Now that child support agencies have transitioned to the State Disbursement Unit (SDU), custodial parents have begun receiving checks that look different than the checks previously issued by the County of Orange. (see below).
If you are currently enrolled in direct deposit with Orange County DCSS, there should be little or no delay in receiving your child support. The SDU will continue to issue payments via direct deposit according to the instructions we provide them.
Once the SDU is fully implemented in the Fall of 2006, all custodial parents will have the option to sign up to receive child support payments via an Electronic Pay Card (EPC). This is an exciting service enhancement as the card functions just like a credit or debit card. When a child support payment is received, the funds are simply credited into the card account for customers to use immediately! For more information click here.
