Genetic tests will be scheduled if paternity has been placed at issue in the complaint and the issue of paternity isn’t res judicata and certain presumptions do not apply. Genetic testing is normally scheduled after an answer to the complaint has been filed. An administrative order for genetic testing and an appointment will be served on the parties along with a hearing date for a Motion for Judgment (MFJ). If a party needs to reschedule the genetic testing appointment, contact the attorney clerk at the genetic testing desk at 347-8150. DCSS and the lab make every effort to have the test results available prior to the first setting of the MFJ.
